Speaking issue..
We can define Speaking skill like: "...is the productive skill in the oral mode. It, like the other
skills, is more complicated than it seems at first and involves more
than just pronouncing words." (www.sil.org)
As we can see, the speaking skill is more complicated that it seems. Actually, our dear teacher +Aida Sermeno had some troubles developing this skill because she was so shy and she was afraid of other listening to her.
this is a difficult situation, but she could overcome that situation through the interaction with her students. In that way she gained more confidence in the use of English and that situation (being a teacher) helped her to collect more vocabulary.
Her favorites activities were those developed in group because she could get some ideas and new vocabulary and in this way avoid speaking with everybody's attention to her.
To improve all our skills is such a challangue, but the important is to work hard and never give up! Nicely done teacher +Aida Sermeno and thanks for sharing your expirience with us!
Wow, I know speaking skill is hard to develop especially for shy people. I never imagine the teacher was timidid that sense; nevertheless, I congratulate her because now she's good at it (speaking). Personally, speaking was develop with little difficulty once that I got self-confidence when releasing information. Anyways, well done teacher!
ReplyDeleteI agree! I remember my first year in the major because I was not able to speak English. It was hard for me at the beginning, but then, I started to think in English only and get used to speaking with my classmates. To work hard is the best way to improve in any skill. Congrats, teacher!
